Treating AI as a real thinking partner

After 15-plus years in business, the past few months brought back a spark I hadn't felt in a while. I stopped using AI as just a tool and started treating it like a true thinking partner, building agents that handle meeting prep, follow-ups, content, and accountability for me and for my clients. I'm teaching a lot of this live in my Unlocking AI workshops, and I keep finding that most of us are only scratching the surface of what's possible.

Helping owners step out of the day to day

My favorite work is still the core work: helping owners move from operator to CEO. Through my Signature Diagnostic Deep Dive I dig past the surface fixes to find the root causes of operational and team issues, so a business can scale with profit, freedom, and a lot less chaos. I also run The Guild, a small collective of ambitious owners building companies that serve their lives instead of consuming them.

Putting team wellbeing on the agenda

Mental health for owners and their teams is one of my north stars. I recently joined a Greater Austin Chamber panel on workplace wellbeing, where we got into how preventative care, smarter benefits, and better-designed work can improve retention and build cultures that actually hold up. Healthy people and high performance aren't a trade-off, and I want more leaders to see that.

On the lighter side

I'm proud to call Austin home, and I love celebrating wins here, including finally getting my Austin Under 40 photos a year after the award and coming back to hand the honor to this year's winner. I'm a recovering perfectionist learning to do things messy, and lately I'm betting on myself, staying more visible, and having more fun with the work than I've had in years.
