🚨 NEWS FLASH: Revenue is a lagging metric 🚨
This is one of the cardinal sins of business.
If you’re making decisions based on revenue, you’re looking in the rearview mirror—seeing what happened in the past, not what’s happening now or coming next.
Please stop. It’s not going to go how you want it to go, and you are going to be in for a wild ride.
Focus on Controllable Growth Levers
Instead, focus on the controllable actions that produce revenue:
- Improving team performance
- Refining your offer
- Enhancing customer experience
- Optimizing your sales process
These are the levers you can pull to drive growth—and they’ll keep your business ahead of the curve.
Look at the things that generate revenue. Look at the things you can control.
When you focus on those, you can tune, shift, and focus on those things that will generate not only revenue but profitability and help you have a much more stable, scalable, and even more fun business.
